In 2008, Haley was sent back to the state house with 83 percent of the vote – the highest percentage of earnings every legislator is facing contested elections inSouth Carolina this year.
Born in Bamberg, South Carolina, the first work of Nikki kept books for the clothing store of his family , at age 13.
She went on to graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and after working as head of accounting for the Charlotte, North Carolina corporation FCR, Inc and its five subsidiaries.
Nikki then returned to the family business, where she helped to control their growth in the multimillion-dollar operation.
Nikki and her husband Michael, a full federal technician with the South Carolina National Guard and National Guard officer, live in Lexington with her two children, Rena, 12, and Nalin, 8.
