Indian Woman Nikki Haley Wins The Governer Race


A news by 4usnews:idining the Republican wave, Nikki Haley, the daughter of a Sikh immigrant parents from Amritsar, has created history as the first Indian American woman to win the governor race in the state of South Carolina.

Haley was born Nimrata (Nikki) Randhawa will be the first woman executive director of the state and the second Indo-US America after the governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal Governor, as well as theRepublican who became the first of his election three years ago.

Mother of two, Haley, 38, who defeated Democrat Vincent Sheheen, with a surprisingly close to 51 percent 47 percent votes in the most expensive election in state history Tuesday, as Jindal has been mentioned as a “long shot” candidate for president in 2012.

Born in Bamberg, South Carolina, the first work of Nikki kept books for the clothing store of his family , at age 13.

She went on to graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and after working as head of accounting for the Charlotte, North Carolina corporation FCR, Inc and its five subsidiaries.

Nikki then returned to the family business, where she helped to control their growth in the multimillion-dollar operation.

Nikki and her husband Michael, a full federal technician with the South Carolina National Guard and National Guard officer, live in Lexington with her two children, Rena, 12, and Nalin, 8.
