The plot of the movie revolves around the murder of billionaire Sir Robert King in a subsequent assignment of terrorist Renard and Bond to protect the king’s daughter, Elektra, which had previously been held for ransom by Renard. During his appointment, Bond unravels the scheme to increase the price of oil, causing the nuclear crisis in the waters of Istanbul.
Despite the mixed critical reception the film, he earned $ 361,832,400 worldwide.
Pre-title sequence finds Bond (Pierce Brosnan) in a Swiss bank in Bilbao, Spain, receiving a large sum of money which belongs to Sir Robert King, a British oil tycoon and a personal friend of M. Although Bond decides to find the truth about the death of his partner, 0012 and tries to question a banker, a man murdered by his assistant Giulietta da Vinci (Maria Grazia Cucinotta), before he could speak. After the murder of another bank’s assistant, Bond escapes. Upon arrival, the bonds with money in London, Sir Robert (David Calder) was killed in a bomb explosion at the headquarters of MI-6 to recover the money had been rigged to explode, detonated his lapel PIN-code. Bond immediately rush to catch the culprit – the cigar girl from the Swiss bank in Bilbao – in a boat on the Thames.
