The model actress-and-singer has travelled the world for her career but insists nowhere is more precious to her than the home she shares with the Hollywood star and their children – daughter Lily-Rose, 11, and son Jack, eight.

When asked by rocker Patti Smith what her “special place is in the new issue of Interview magazine, she said: “Definitely our house in the South of France. It's in the middle of the trees and the fields. The light is magnificent, the nature is magnificent. It's the most beautiful, most simple life. Even if you go into town - and we go and buy bread or whatever -- the people are just so sweet. They don't care what you do. They just care that you have good manners, which is something I care about, too, so it's good.”

Vanessa also revealed her children have changed her mentality and have altered the way in which she approaches her art and her life.

The 37/year/old star added. My mind is not completely my own anymore. I used to be able to concentrate and achieve things. Now I find it much harder to focus, because it just seems that half your brain doesn't belong to you anymore.
“I can't say a big sentence on what exactly changed in me when I had children. I mean, I don't feel that I do a tremendous effort to try to make this place better for us and for our kids right now. But I make little efforts and I try to make them every day. That's why if my children ask me about something, I make sure I always take the time to show them and explain things to them so they understand......

Miley Cyrus Kissing Kevin Zegers Was Awkward

The singer-and-actress found it awkward to shoot the smooching scenes with the hunk for the promo for Rock Mafia’s single "The Big Bang" because the Dawn of the Dead’ actor is dating someone she works with.

She told E! News: "There's a pretty cool kissing scene in 'The Big Bang' which is pretty funny because Kevin is actually the boyfriend of someone that works very closely with me. So there was definitely a little awkwardness since she was on set, or whatever.....

However, Miley admitted it wasn’t all bad as she felt more comfortable filming the intimate scenes with someone she knows rather than a stranger.

She said: I think it's kind of cool that it's someone that I know and that I really like.

Apart from her embarrassment at having to kiss her friend’s boyfriend, Miley – who will turn 18 next Tuesday -- also spoke of her excitement at celebrating her birthday at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday.

The Climb hitmaker will be joined at the event by Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Kesha and Christina Aguilera, and she is happy that many of her friends will all be in the same place for the big day.

Miley said: For my birthday this year, I'm just gonna have everyone that I really love be able to hang out. I don't always get to see everyone so it's kind of cool that the AMAs are happening, so everyone will actually be in town for my birthday, which will be pretty cool........

John Travolta Says Hollywood Is Friendlier Than Ever Before

He said: "Hollywood is more friendly now than it's ever been. When I started out in the 70s, the business side of Hollywood was dominant.

"Books on the techniques of business intimidation were really popular at the time. I forget the titles now, but they were all about intimidation and making a person feel threatened so they could be manipulated.

"The artists were made to feel insecure, the studios got more powerful and no one wanted each other to do well. Those were the old days.

"I don't find that now: artists hang out with other artists, and the business people no longer rely on intimidation as a part of their modus operandi."

The actor also revealed he believes in karma and always tries to treat people the way he would like to be treated.

Travolta told GQ India: "I do believe that what goes around comes around, but I also believe that you create your own destiny. I've noticed in my life that karma is instant: whatever's coming to me, I get back right away. Yet, I notice that with other people there are delays. I find that interesting....

Elizabeth Hurley's Son Loves Austin Powers

Although she has a big fan in her house, Elizabeth -- who lives on a farm in South West England, with Damian and her husband Arun Nayar -- she is having trouble keeping her dogs happy.

The 45-year-old brunette beauty has several Labradors, but her favorite mutt Raja is unhappy with her because she has been away from home so much, while her pooch Emily is doing some strange things......
